Zechariyah/Zechariah 14:1 - 21

Chapter 14

1 Behold, God's awaited day is coming; and your spoils will be divided in your midst.  2 I shall gather all the nations to Jerusalem to wage war, the city will be conquered, the homes plundered and the women violated; half the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.  3 Then Hashem will go out and wage war against those nations as on the day He warred, the day of battle.

4 On that day His feet will stand astride the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives will split at its center, eastward and westward, making a huge ravine; half the mountain will move northward and half southward.  5 Then you will flee, for the ravine will extend to Atzal; you will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of King Uzziah of Judah; then Hashem my God will come with all the angels to your aid.  6 And it will happen on that day that there will be neither clear light nor heavy darkness.  7 This will go on for a whole day — understood only by Hashem — neither day nor night; but toward evening it will be perceived as light.

8 It will be on that day that fresh water will flow from Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea and half backward to the west; in summer and winter the flow will continue.  9 Hashem will be King over all the world — on that day Hashem will be One and His Name will be One.  10 The entire area will be transformed to a plain, from the hill of Rimmon south of Jerusalem; the City will rise high, on its original site, from the Gate of Benjamin until the place of the First Gate to the Inner Gate, and from the Tower of Chananel to the royal wine cellar.  11 They will dwell within her and destruction shall be no more; Jerusalem shall dwell secure.

12 This will be the plague with which Hashem will smite all the nations that rallied against Jerusalem - their flesh will rot while they still stand erect, their eyes will rot in their sockets and their tongue will rot in their mouths.  13 On that day there will be a great confusion from Hashem upon them; and when someone will seek to grasp his comrade's hand, he will overpower his comrade's hand.  14 Even Judah will be forced to attack Jerusalem; the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered in a great abundance of gold, silver, and garments.  15 Similar will be the plague against the horses, mules, camels, donkeys, and all the animals that will be in those camps; like the above plague.

16 And it will happen that all who will be left from among all the nations that come upon Jerusalem; they will ascend every year to prostrate themselves before the King, Hashem, Master of Legions, and to celebrate the festival of Succos.  17 And any of the families of the Land that will not ascend to Jerusalem to prostrate themselves to the King, Hashem, Master of Legions - the rain will not fall upon them.  18 And if the family of Egypt will not ascend and will not come — and the lack of rain does not affect them — they will suffer the plague with which Hashem will afflict the nations, because they will not have ascended to celebrate the festival of Succos.  19 This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that will not ascend to celebrate the festival of Succos.

20 On that day the bells on the horses will make a sanctification of Hashem; they will become cauldrons in the House of Hashem, [as numerous] as the basins before the Altar.  21 Every cauldron in Jerusalem and Judah will be sanctified to Hashem, Master of Legions — and all who bring offerings will come and take from them to cook in them; and traders will no longer be in the House of Hashem on that day.
